Is It Worth Coming?

Having read the thread about the increased lawlessness on Samui, and also thinking that the weather is not too good there at the moment, is it worth me coming to Samui for the New Year?

So what's the weather likely to be like over the new year period, and is Samui as unsafe as I've read nowadays?

I have to say that I spent 3 months there last year, and was glad to get out of it. I found it was the scumbag farangs who were the worst. I nevver had a problems with any Thais, just Brits.

Yes, well I suppose I have! But that was cos I lived there for 3 months. This time I'd just be visiting for a few days (3 or 4) and wondered if it would be OK , given all I've read, to pop over there.

But, yeah I s'pose you're right ...
