[Myanmar] Unhcr Officials To Meet Rohinya Refugees

Officials from the United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR) in India confirmed on Tuesday that they plan to meet with Rohingya asylum seekers in New Delhi. Around 2,500 Rohingya from Burma have gathered at the Sultan Garhi monument in the Indian capital, according to The Hindustan Times. Local residents threatened to protest the continuing presence of the refugees in their area if the meeting with the UNHCR does not result in their removal. Activists called on the government to do more to protect the welfare of the Rohingya.
