Anyone drives this small avanza? Looking into reasonable car for in-laws at 500k price range. Looked at the basic avanza at 569k. Also tasted drive Eco Almeda at 489k. Again I don't think I care about the performance or anything just something to drive from a to b but with extra 80k over most Eco car in Los we can get this somewhat word smallest seven seater. You know how Thais like to squeeze every in.... Anyone? Fuel economy? Driving comfort?

Avanza, an import with a manual at the price you are saying and very basic. 12 - 13 kpl in the city and up to 15 kpl on the road.

Nissan Almeda. A more roomy car with 15 kpl in the city and 20 kpl on the road, Slightly less power but I think not really that noticable.

But the 2 you talk about are a nice car and a bottom mini van stripper ? Does not seem in the same class.

How many will travel together and what is the normal distance they drive and for what ?

My inlaws in the country side think a truck is better suited for their area. City and they may want a small car that is easier to drive

And how much driving experance do they have ?

There are many new cars under 400,000 Bt new, March, Brio, and Colt as well as others.

Go up slightly and many auto cars are avalable as well as a few trucks

Maybe a good used car or truck in the 200,000 range if they do not have a car or never did before would be more in order.

I've travelled in a an avanza several times. The rear two seats are just suitable for children. It's not too bad but I wouldn't want to drive very far in it. What is annoying is the high rpm at 100 km/h which makes it quite noisy at speed. If you are just running 4 adults/kids I'd go for a sedan. Between 506K my choice would be mazda 2 (manual is great apparently), but the auto does well too - I think the about is about 570K or so. You won't even get a manual jazz for that. But if you want better fuel economy you need an eco-car, The mitsu mirage has apparently the best fuel economy of the bunch at the moment. Though my preference would be the suzuki swift, top model about 560K - looks much nicer than the others, but not available to drive away just yet.
