I have completed my contract with my school. I intend to leave Thailand shortly, Do I need a letter from the school to show to immigration, that my employment with the school has finished or can I show them my contract. It finishes on 30th May. 2 years a friend was not allowed too depart from Thailand until he produced a letter showing his employment had been terminated at his school.

Thanks for any advice

You need to leave Thailand on the last day of your employment. If that is not the last day of your work permit validity you need to cancel your work permit and if your permission to stay is based on employment you need to cancel your permission to stay at immirgation. For both you need a letter from your employer, clearly satting the last day of employemnt (not necesarily the last day of ctual working, rather the last day of getting paid).

If it is last day of employment and work permit validity, normally you can just leave and don't need to cancel.
