Driving License Questions (Car Renewal And New Motorbike Combined))

Hi All,

Sorry I know this topic has been done to death but I couldn't find the info I wanted when searching and really don't want to have to turn up at the DLT more than once.

My 1 year Thai driving license expired a year ago. I now plan to renew, thereby gaining the 5-year driving license. I found differing information on what is required for this, if someone on here could confirm exactly what I need that would be appreciated.

Also, I would like to gain a motorbike license. Can anyone give me an outline of the procedure and docs I need for this? can the car and motorbike license be combined or do I need to take them separately and have two different licenses.

Thanks in advance.

This is a up to date topic with info on renewal

But as your license has expired a year ago, it would be possible that you have to start all over again. So Computer test and practical. But you have to ask. I think you can renew your license (and not do the practical again) only if the license has expired less then 12 months ago. But not 100% sure on this one. Also as TiT, it could depend on which DLT you go to.

Sadly since it is expired, I think you start over again and get 1 year again. If not expired than a 5 year as well as test (full) for a 1 year M/C license. They are not the same and you are issued 2 different cards. Maybe, but I would think hard pressed to do both in 1 day. Maybe if all paperwork was in order and you went first thing in the morning and after lunch do the other if they let you

Good luck
