New Taxi Fare Signs At Phuket Airport

Featured Replies

I took a meter taxi from the airport to Rawai a bit over a week ago. I negotiated the price before I got in. 500 Baht. The meter read 400 something Baht.

You got a good deal then, as the airport surcharge is 100B.

They come from the airport and pick me up at my house for the same price. Way better than the local black plate gang...

I took a taxi meter from the airport to the school on the road to Rawai, just past the traffic circle in Chalong last month. I was told 500 bahts, normally its between 430 - 450 so I declined and asked for the meter, sure enough when we stopped the meter was on 500. Anyone else noticed the taxi meter rates creeping up?

Yes.

I am just so full of venom and bile on this subject, but I know that everyne has the same view, so I'll spare you from it. wink.png

What is so bloody difficult about cleaning up that abomination of an airport?

I will definately give that a shot, now all they need is a side entrance to the airport to avoid all the taxi eggheads

No need to avoid the touts. Just jangle your car keys in their face with a ( false smile ), or any bunch of keys for that matter. They pick up on that pretty quick and look for their next mark.

I wear my full face helmet on the plane.

Well at least on FD it saves you from an injury when the usual clod is swinging his bag around trying to get it in or out of the overhead bin. smile.png

You.ll find that includes the 100 baht in the price. In usual operating hours the price on arrival in Rawai has never been higher than 460 baht ALL IN.

After hours is a different thing.
