I bought a 3G True Move card which works perfectly fine. I got a 1 gig package on pre pay but it will run out soon.

Can somebody please tell me how to top up and buy more gigs. I just can't seem to work it out, thank you.

You need to top up enough cash for the package you want, sctratch cards from 7-11 or whatever, then send an SMS or dial a code sequence.

http://www.truemove....prs-package.htm

In your case, I believe that you need to top up 399 baht worth, then send an SMS with message contents "V2" to number 9789, or dial *900*41# and press the send button to call in and activate the package.

Thanks bino, can you tell me how long in time will that 1.25 gb last? I can not read Thai. Is it one month 2 or what? Thank you.

Is it a 1Gb only, or 1Gb for a month?

If it's 1Gb only you should be able to renew it as soon as you finish the 1Gb. If it's for the month you have to wait for the month to finish (or cancel it).

Topping up is easy - any 7-11 you can do "online top-up" give them the cash, punch the telephone number of the chip into the machine, and it'll top up your balance.

To renew your package simply sms the package code to 9789 or use the *900*xx# ussd code.

(For 1Gb flat, that would be V3 by sms, or *900*43#. For 1GB/30 days it would be M3 by sms, or *900*33#. Both cost 374.50 (350+vat))

If you're sure 1Gb won't last you 30 days, the 30 day package is a pita - go for the flat 1Gb. Do not, however, that if you're using the flat 1Gb package and forget, leave it downloading and go to bed with it running past 1Gb, you might wake up to find that during the night it's reverted to "per MB" pricing and hoovered out whatever balance you had in there.

Edit: I've just seen bino's message. He's right if you're on Truemove. If you're on Truemove-H it's different (the codes I said)

I bought the air card with 1 GB included to be used within 90 days. When the 1 GB nearly looks like running out I would like to top up, thank you.

Actually after a bit of frantic clicking, I'm revising my guess to be that you bought a Truemove (not H) aircard on their special offer 1790 baht/90 days free internet deal. (http://www.truemove.com/aircard/en/Default.aspx)

In which case both Bino and I might be wrong. bino's codes are for edge/wifi/gprs 1gb package (1 month). My codes are for Truemove-H.

In your case (3G, not edge/wifi/gprs) there doesn't appear to be a volume based package (Click on "topping package" on the above page) (??!)

I'm *almost* sure there IS a Truemove, 3G, volume based package but I'll be damned if i can find it... There's a 699 baht (5Gb on 3G) for the MiFi.

I thought truemove-H's packages were stupidly numerous and complicated until I started looking at TrueMove's.

That link is exactly the truemove 3G aircard I have. Correction: My aircard included 1 gb for 60 days (not 90 like I stated before). I too am finding their website lacking information on what pre paid GB allownces I can buy.

I stand corrected by bobl- the page I sent is for Plain TrueMove, not TrueMove H, which is what you woud have.

Why not go back to the shop that sold it to you. I'm guessing that they spoke enough English to serve you, so they could show you how to top it up.

I think I will have to. In all those Trurmove webpages nothing tells me in English (for 3G pre pay) how much is a top up, how long it lasts and how many gigs I get. They really need to do some work on their website, thanks again.

If it was "only" the fact that their website is devoid of language support that wouldn't be so bad - with even limited Thai and educated guesswork it's not hard to work out what you get in each of the "packages". The problem is there's so many packages, promotions and offers. I'll wager that even the guys in the True shop will have a hard time giving you a proper answer, because I doubt even they can make sense of all the options.

When we came over from Africa my tg arrived in Thailand a few months ahead of me and tried to get her Blackberry working. She ended up (she's on postpaid) subscribed to an expensive Blackberry package, AND an internet bundle, AND voice & SMS bundles totalling something like 1300 baht/month when all she really needed was the 299 baht BB Me (it's DTAC) package (and voice/sms at standard rates).

If I was you I'd throw away that Truemove chip once it's done, and replace it with a Truemove-H chip (99 baht) then top up 400 baht and subscribe to their 3G 1Gb package. Assuming of course you'd need to check if you have Truemove-H coverage in your area. At least Truemove-H packages, while many, are much more clearly defined.

Also assuming of course that Truemove-H is allowed to continue to exist. Or is it My by CAT that might not be allowed? I can't keep up with the crap going on in Thailand's telecoms political manouevering.
