Is there anyone out there who lives in Thailand and still receives cheque books and crdit/debit cards from halifax bank. When I moved to Thailand Halifax bank had no problem sending me cheq books ect, buty after seven years they are now refusing. Is there anyone in the same position as me, or is there anyone still receiving in the last six months cheq books ect

This was to be expected.

Do you not have a UK address that you can "borrow" for correspondence purposes? This is the easiest way round these problems.

One of my UK cards is billed to me here in Thailand but the correspondence address is in the UK, thus avoiding an iniquitous GBP1.50 fee for each statement sent.

I sure hope you aren't teaching English, if you can't find your way around your own bank/society.
