I need to buy a workhorse pickup asap unfortunately I have no idea what I should be looking for when buying a used cars.

Can anyone help me make a list of what I should be looking for to identify signs of flood damage, gear box going bad, accident, etc.

Looked at tips on a few sites but none from people with experience buying here.

What's your budget I hear everyone thinking. :)

My sister inlaw sold her old Nissan with no power steering, forget how old it was but still a good old banger. 30,000 baht.

Another Family member has just sold a Isuzu D-max 360,000 baht it was 8 years old.

Any truck make that has been well maintained would fit the bill, depends on how much you want to pay.

The basic 'J ' model Toyota Vigo truck is a cheapy, maybe there are cheaper ones, dunno.

Without powered steering 504,000 baht with 524,000 baht.

I'm leaning towards a Colorado, Thais don't like them that much, some good value to be found.

But the info I'm looking for, is how best to inspect the car (never bought second before), potential Thailand specific pitfalls, etc.

Weeeeeeeeeell, it is a mine field as nothing is thrown away in LOS.

What is your budget and requirements ? Remember a 2 door does not insure more than 2 passengers.

For a used Colorado go on the chevrolet website en.chevrolet.co.th and all the information about certified used cars is at the bottom of the page. It's the same as Toyota Sure certified used - you get peace of mind buying a used cars which has had all the checks and you get a year's warranty.

Ideally would be around 400k, 2 doors is fine I just need to move materials around.

I'll be doing a lot of miles though want to make sure I don't buy a truck that will fall apart and die on me a month later ermm.gif

Once my new Ranger has arrived my Colorado will be up for sale.

2004 3 litre/auto. 130,000km on the clock. has 320mm front disc upgrade, soon to be fitted new standard height suspension (springs/shocks front and rear) from Pedders in Australia, 17inch rays wheels (new front tyres/rears about 60%) and carbon firbre film on the roof and bonnet.

First class insurance and road tax paid up till march 2013

Flick me a PM if you interested.

This is it currently lowered on 20" wheels.

This is it with the 17 inch Rays wheels, new suspension will lift it about 4 inches.

With 400K you are not far from the new price in 2 dr pickup...and if you will be doing a lot of km,than check the CNG Mitsu...

...2 dr pickups come with the regular cab/long bed,or extended cab/shorter bed....which one you want?

Agree with this if doing a lot of miles a new CNGmitsu makes sense.
