Legal Racing Venues

Featured Replies

There was one smallish race tack behind Seacon Square on Srinakarin Rd, but it's now being bulldozed to make more parking space :(

I know there's a drag strip, but does anyone know if there are any other proper, publicly accessible tracks, closer than going off to Pattaya?

Your lucky you only have to go Bangkok - Pattaya think of the rest of Thailandsad.png .

Well there are a few race tracks and numerous drag strips dotted around Thailand. Thailand circuit Nakhon chaisri. Bira near pattaya. Bonaza kow yai. One near cha am ( I forget the name)

Drag strip on highway 35 nakhon songkran.

Thailands very small thenwink.png .

Thais generally consider any highway as a race track. Why build real ones :P

By publicly accessible I take it you mean for you to drive on ? So Bang Saen street circuit doesn't count ?

I mean, that enthusiasts can use against a small fee, not reserved for professionals only.

And yeah, Bangkok does have a lot of overhead "race tracks", but I'm not too keen on that :P

As THAICBR stated, Bira near Pataya (1 hour from BKk), check the agenda, if nothing on, afternoons for cars, mornings for bikes. Cost I think 1,500 baht.

Nakon Chaisri, (1.5 hr outside rush hour) Thailand Circuit, fun and safe track.

Kraeng Kachan near Petchburi (not near though, 25km inland from there) fantastic track, little run of, but great fun.

Bonanza (Kao yai) near Pak Chong, seems like the longest straight in LOS.

Those are the fixed venues.

I tried looking for the Thailand Circuit website, but it has expired. Have you ever driven on it?

Looks like it is mainly bikes.

Thanks for the updates guys, good to see other options!

Old topic, but there is Bangkok Drag up in Pathum Thani.

http://www.bangkokdrag.com The website does not have lot of updated information.

If I remember, that strip was closed after a few spectators were killed.

I think it had to have the safety improved and reopened.

I'll have to go and have a boo then as it is nearer than the Hwy 35 one? But I'll have to check that as well?

oh I forgot to mention the good news, the little track behind Seacon that I mentioned in the first post, will not be completely demolished. Only about half will remain, and it's really not much more than a large go-kart track but it's better than nothing!
