Need Original Diplomas To Get Non-B Visa For Teaching Job At Uni?

I'm going to Kuala Lumpur to get my Non-B visa for my teaching job at a local university. Will I need my original diplomas? I don't understand why immigration would care about these diplomas, it should be up to the uni to vet my paperwork. If I as applying for a non-teaching job, there's no need to show a diploma.

If I do need to submit/show diplomas, will a copy of the original work?
