OK, late yesterday the little lady was working in the corner of the garden near the lampost with the nest.

I went down to talk to her and asked if she had had any more problems with the hornets. She said no, they've not worried her since than one time she was stung.

FIVE MINUTES later she is screaming and running to me trying to untangle a hornet from her hair! We killed one of the bastards, but she had been stung about four times on the head and bum. This morning one eye is swollen and sore, but as I write she is back gardening in the same area.

The bastards have to go.

Can anyone give me a contact for a pest removal company who will come and spray the nest?

Thanks for the recommendation.

We've already arranged with another mob to come out tomorrow. Let you know how it goes.

I'll keep CM Co. in reserve.

The first company, KB Pestcontrol, said they would come out today, but rang this afternoon to pull out after asking about the size of the nest and the height involved. Not surprised, can't put my finger on it, but something about the name didn't elicit confidence.

So called in CM Pestcontrol. They have sprayed the nest with some strong chemicals and, with the nozzle, poked it to break it open. They said there were very few grubs inside so maybe they were no longer breeding.

A lot of hornets are flying around, but hopefully they should be all gone by tomorrow. smile.png

So.....the company I suggested actually did something.

Get rid of the bastards. I was stung 3 months ago and discovered I'm mildly allergic! Two days off work with a leg twice the size as the other. Our gardener filled their nest with petrol and took it away.

The attack was unprovoked. sad.png

The hornet nest as it is now.

It incorporated a number of cables inside the structure. Lucky we didn't burn it out.

All the hornets are gone now. Cost 2000 baht, 1200 for spray.

What is the spray? Glue, cement, or something like that? Looks like it might make a nice birdhouse now, which would probably keep another from being built.

Hugs, and let the God of your choice smile upon you.wai.gif

Shot.

The spray was a strong pesticide.

May have been a bit premature saying the hornets have all gone.

Someone from TOT turned up today to remove the remains of the nest from the wires (they didn't want to know about it when it was full of the vicious bastards!). They took one look, said there are still some little beasties in there and shot through.

Have to get Chaing Mai Pest Control back again, they said it was a possibility it would need a second spray.

Edited because I was just told it was TOT who turned up this morning, not the Orbatore.

For those of you who have been avidedly following this thread, the nest is no more.

Someone turned up last night, under the cover of darkness (we think the Electric Co), and burnt out the hive.

There were still a few live hornets there, but these remnents are all that now remains:
