The Pakistani Taliban threatened to attack Burma to avenge perceived atrocities committed against the Muslim Rohingya minority unless Pakistan halts all relations with the government including shutting the Burmese Embassy in Islamabad, reports AFP. In a statement released on Thursday, the fundamentalist Islamic Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) group issued a call to defend Muslims in Burma’s western Arakan State who have become embroiled in sectarian violence since the beginning of June. “Otherwise we will not only attack Burmese interests anywhere but will also attack the Pakistani fellows of Burma one by one,†said TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan in a statement.
