Toyota Camry 2009 Anyone Got One (Gps Question Too)

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

The wifey just bought a 2009 Camry (top model but not the Hybrid crap), its a pretty nice car I must say, I thought it would be a peice of crap, but apart from the plastic looking dashboard, its got very good features and drives pretty good.

But today I was driving to immigration to pay my overstay clap2.gif I had the GPS on and it didnt have a lot of the roads. I see there is a disc in the GPS thing that you put it.

So how do I get the current map? Where can I get a copy?

Anyone got any hints/ tips or any experiences with the car in general?

I think you can have Toyota update the map when you have it serviced.

Toyota is still using the 2009/2011 version of their GPS DVD Disc.

Remove the DVD ( or look at the screen ) and see which version you have.

Toyota does NOT update the GPS during service but if available you can BUY the latest DVD disk.

I just asked at 2 Toyota dealers in Chiangmai and they both said the updated GPS DVD is 18,000+ baht. I questioned them very carefully and both places repeated twice that that is just the DVD price, not for a new system.

Please, someone disabuse me of this information.

My disc is 2006/2007.

Way too much for a new disc. I have a Garmin and sygic on my phone (about 1,000 baht with free updates), I think I will just leave the old disc in.
