[Myanmar] India To Upgrade Roads In Burma

India plans to improve its connectivity with the Southeast Asian region by upgrading roads in Burma, Indian Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai said at a regional cooperation seminar in Imphal, the capital of the northeastern state of Manipur, on Aug. 18. “We have a plan to upgrade the roads within Myanmar from the Ministry of External Affairs, and we know that the Myanmar authorities will be extending it, so that within the next four or five years, we should develop a connectivity between India through Myanmar to the rest of Southeast Asia,†said Mathai, according to a report by Asia News International.
