[Myanmar] Arakanese Hold Anti-Un Protest In Rangoon

Around 50 demonstrators gathered in Rangoon on Sunday to protest what they saw as discrimination against Burma’s ethnic Arakanese minority by the United Nations, according to AFP. The protesters, who were mostly from the Arakanese ethnic group, accused the world body of favoring Rohingya Muslims displaced by recent violence between the two groups. The clashes left about 80 people from both sides dead, and tens of thousands of others homeless. Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that it has negotiated with Burma’s government to send aid for the Rohingyas.
