Aus Vodafone Microsim Required (Rawai Area)

Hi all, brought my iphone over from Aus but its locked.....didnt bring old sim and need to unlock through itunes....been in touch with Voda they say i need a voda micosim any one out there have one??? cheers

^{Perhaps you could take it MBK, 4th Floor i think it is and get somebody to unlock it so you can use a local sim . May cost about 500 baht at most .}

Many telephone shops will be able to unluck.

Unlocking the iPhone is a few hundred baht.

Sorry Mate, I didn't notice it was in the Phuket forum, thought you were in Bangers. My Mistake . Anyway most phone shops will do it for you , just ask how much first. I got mine done a bout 2 weeks ago and some tried 1000 thb but i paid 500 thb, I have heard of cheaper tho.

went to Big C a few weeks ago due to a recent post of mine on the computers forum where a few people said go but the robbing barstewards reckoned 2500 baht cough cough.........went round a few more and they looked at the iphone version and said no this one 2500 baht??? thought they was trying to have a lend of me for sure so canned the idea until i sent Voda Aus an email and they said get hold of a mini voda sim get on itunes with some code from them and all shall be sweet...........we shall see???? you dont happen to know the actual shop name at the bottom of Big C do you????

I understood what you wanted to do by your OP. I'm guessing you have iOS 5.1.1, the latest version. They would have to put on an older iOS version, jail break it then unlock the phone. It would take some time to do. Hopefully there's an Aussie around that has a Vodaphone micro sim they could let you use for a short time to access Voda's network. But I'm sure there would be international data roaming charges to that account. A bit curious as to why you didn't bring yours. There are two SIM slots, correct? Sorry I can't help you out as I don't have one.

only 1 skid....left my sim so my mate can use because contract still current till end of the year....will put an AIS sim in when unlocked.....no roaming charges probably will get my mate to send me a prepaid voda sim if the other options fail

Yes, I know you want to use a local SIM. I'd get your mate to ship that Vodaphone SIM ASAP. I still maintain two accounts. One here and one in the US. I never pay roaming. Plus there are several internet based free phone applications to call the US from anywhere in the world I can get

internet.
