Another bridge linking Myawaddy, Burma, and the Thai border town of Mae Sot will be built in the near future, according to a report by the Bangkok-based daily The Nation. The managing director of Burma’s Ministry of Construction, Kyaw Linn, said at a road development workshop in Naypyidaw on Tuesday that the new bridge would enable vehicles of up to 60 tonnes to make the crossing, while the current bridge would remain in use for small and medium-sized vehicles. The site of the new bridge has already been chosen, he added.
