Windows 7 Installed But New Programs I Download Are In Thai

Hoping someone can help me please.

Pc was running slow so local shop put an extra 2gb of ram in and windows 7 operating system.

Now when I download new programs Itunes, Avast etc. they are in Thai not English. I am downloading these programs from Download.com

As I cannot read Thai this is somewhat of a problem for me! So can any kind and knowledgeable soul tell me what I am doing wrong and what I need to do please to get the programs to download in English.

As well as this my laptop is picking up my wireless router signal and saying it is on the net but I cannot access web pages. Skype and Vuze however are still working.

If anyone can assist me I would appreciate it a lot.

you can try this:

Control Panel, icon view: Region and Language, location tab.

Control Panel, category view: Clock, Language and Region > Change location

uninstall the program and attempt to reinstall again.

re router issue, is your router set up as default, or do you remember if someone or yourself changed the DNS...? if you think it's default, check your TCP/IP settings and make sure they're set to "obtain automatically".

They may have put the onetime language settings to thai during setup if they did that they it cannot be changed, you can try as other poster suggested going to regional settings and change everything you can to english(if it is set to thai)

For web browsing, please go to tools>options>connections in IE and make sure that use a proxy server is not checked as this will stop you browsing, also put in browser 173.194.38.159 this is google.co.uk and if it comes up when enter IP then the problem is your DNS settings, then try to change DNS in either router or advance properties of network card IP , google is good one 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

I have an idea. Re-download Windows to a USB and start over. NEVER let a thai person install software, you have no idea what these peoples are installing on your COMPUTER. Hell they could of put a key logger on the dam_n thing before you;d know. I highly recommend you take the day to learn to do this your self. Plenty of videos on YouTube, time to look under the hood and get ya hands dirty.

Thank you to all for your helpful suggestions. I am going to ask a friend to come out to the house when he has time and take a look at the computer and wireless router. Quite frankly all of this is beyond me and I do need an expert to come out and help.

I will let you know the outcome.

A computer technician came to the house last night and fixed most of the problems.

He claims that when Windows is installed the shop have a choice at that time of which language to use with Windows. The shop chose Thai language. As 95% of their customers are Thai I would think this is simply an oversight on their part.

The shop also installed Eset security in Thai which prevented my laptop from accessing the wireless signal.

Computer guy changed the language of Windows and removed Eset security and other programs in Thai and now everything works well.

I had to take the computer back to the shop today as new 2GB. of ram was not working well and was replaced today.

So all is well as of now and hopefully will remain so.

+1 NEVER,NEVER,NEVER,& I mean NEVER let Thai people near UR computer,[or a sick cat & I hate cats by the way],they will F%#* it up big time & install pirated copies of everything & will not work correctly ever again.

Buy a online version of Windows 7 Ultimate & install it urself & get a good Antivirus like Norton 360 & learn a bit about computers.

Also meny of the programs Thai install have viruses & Trojans & worms, just for starters.annoyed.gifannoyed.gifannoyed.gifannoyed.gifannoyed.gifannoyed.gif

You could just install Linux and be done with the mess and no need to upgrade your computer or install the anti-virus stuff and all of the other programs you mentioned are built into the software manager.
