India held talks with Burma and Thailand on Tuesday aimed at establishing a long-anticipated route from India to the markets of Southeast Asia. According to India’s Business Standard, the India-Myanmar-Thailand Joint Task Force meeting took stock of progress on a plan first mooted in Rangoon in April 2002 to build a highway from Moreh in India’s Manipur State to Mae Sot in Thailand’s Tak Province through Burma, joining two of the world’s fastest-growing regions.
