Burma Does Better On Net Freedom Ranking

Burma was among 14 countries that improved their standing in a survey of Internet freedom released by Freedom House on Tuesday. The US-based watchdog group said in its annual report, “Freedom on the Net 2012,†that Burma and Tunisia were the two countries that had improved the most over the past year. However, while Tunisia has moved into the “free†category since the overthrow of its dictatorship last year, Burma continues to be regarded as “not free,†scoring 75 on a scale of 0 to 100, with Iran being the least free country included in the survey with a score of 90.
