The above link is to a site primarily about US visas and the page linked to is about Schengen visas. Not really helpful in answering a question about UK visas!

A standard UK visit visa is multi entry and the ECO can only issue a single entry if there are solid reasons for doing so, see VAT1.3 Visa validity - When to issue a single-entry visit visa.

See also VAT1.6 What is visa endorsement for visits?

Whether a visa is valid for multiple, single or dual entry will be indicated by the endorsement of either 'MULT' or '1' or '2' after 'Number of Entries' on the vignette.

Remember, though, that the visa will be valid for 6 months from it's date of issue (unless a later valid from date was requested in the application) and cannot be used after it's expiry date. If she is still in the UK after it has expired she will be an overstayer, even though she may have only spent 4 weeks in total in the UK.

7by7, as usual, has given spot on advice, as he has pointed out your girlfriend would be classed as overstaying her visa if she remained in the UK six months after the issue date of the visa.

Also bear in mind that the visa itself is not a guarantee of admission into the UK, the IO at the Border will still need to be satisfied that she is a genuine visitor and will leave the UK, so she should have proof with her, just in case.
