What Football Pictures Stay In Your Mind?

Featured Replies

I'm sure there are lots of images over the years that stick in a football supporters mind. Mine go back quite a way and also there are some that are quite recent. They say a picture speaks a thousand words and they also bring back lots of memories. Regarding those I have posted below, I can remember them as if it were yesterday, where did that time go?

Anyway I'll kick off and I really would be interested to see the pictorial memories of others. uptheos

And of course Leyton Orient captain Stan Charlton, after the O's won promotion to Div 1 in 1962/3 season, runners up to Div 2 champions Liverpool. One went one way and one went the other, but it was a great moment.

Ronnie Blair's infamous "Goal That Never Was" for Oldham against Man Utd in December, 1974. Everyone in the ground - apart from the referee - saw it go in and bounce out again.

In the end it didn't matter as Maurice Whittle's 68th minute penalty gave us the victory.

The Dalglish goal against one of the Scandi sides....beats two then curls it into the top corner.

Charlie Nicholas scoring I think 52 goals in a season.

Edit: Will add images later.

Jurgen Klinsmann every home game....that was just electric the buzz running through the Lane when he got the ball...same with Bale now. :)

The down side for some great players.

Can I just clarify, my like is for the great George Best, not his condition at the time of the photo.
