Qatar Airways resumed flights to Rangoon on Thursday after a four-year absence, according to a report by the UAE-based Gulf Times newspaper. A statement released by the airline said that it would be offering three flights a week to the former Burmese capital, which remains the man gateway to the country. The Doha-based carrier also flies to other major destination in Southeast Asia, including Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Bali, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Hanoi, Singapore, Manila and Phuket. Many airlines are seeking to add services to Rangoon, straining the capacity of its international airport.
