My Ed visa is due to be extended on 24 October 2012 and because of family matter I have to go back to my country to sort out some problems.

If I want to extend Ed visa outside Thailand because the above reason and the fee is approximately the same.

Will I have difficulties when I re-enter Thailand ?

Will I have any problem when applying Ed visa "the second time" at Thai Embassy ( the first Ed visa was given 24 July therefore I have to extend on 24 October ) ?

Thanks

You can not extend - you would have to obtain a new visa but with school paperwork expect it can be issued. There should not be any problem entering Thailand if you have a valid visa.

You cannot extend your permission to stay abroad, you can only get a brand new visa and start the whole procedure again. So you will need paperwork from the school inorder to apply for a new visa.

Do note that you can apply for an extension of stay up to 30 days early, so you could go comming week with the correct paperwork and get your extension of stay before you leave. In That case you will also need to get a re-entry permit!

So, now here is my plan :

I go to CW around 24 October 2012 to extend Ed visa and 90-day reporting and buy ( single ) re-entry "stamp".

How many day can I be visiting my country ? How long can I stay outside Thailand according to Thai Ed visa immigration law ?

Thanks

No set rules, but the visa is of course for studying and on avarage you must study 4 hours a week. If you leave for a long time they could ask you questions, especially if you do it often. But immigration do undestand that people sometimes go home to attend a wedding, etc.

If you extend your visa at CW up to a certain date, your are "allowed" to stay abroad for the length of the visa-validity.

The re-entry permit will cover that period.

So, if you extend with 90 days, you have to return before the 90 days are over or get a new ed-visa.

The length of time that you can spend outside the country will depend on how long your extension is good for because the re-entry permit will only be good for that period of time (90 days or one year).

If it is for 90 days that also would mean that your time out would affect your average attendance in classes a lot more than if you had a 1 year extension.
