Volvo Car Repair - Nimmanhaemin Area

My 15 year old Volvo needs a new starter. At least I think that's the problem. Yesterday I had to turn it over about 20 times before it started. Does anyone know a place around Nimmanhaemin that can do this work for me? I avoid the official Volvo dealer. They quote unusually high prices for most repairs.

A shot in the dark here; but soi 15 off Nimmen (there is barfry, and new apartements being built)

at the bottom next door to the vietmnamese restaurtant, a typical auto garage, its not a poxy set up...looks like a mid range place, and looks trustworthy........but I dont know; once went there for a bike probelm but they only do cars.

but another shot in the dark; I usually try the ignition key to start up....rolling the car 20 times seems a bit of an effort to me

Volvo electrics are very complicated. sad.png

Agree; I had an S60, electric heated seats...one evening I could smell smoking, thought it was from outside; then wondered if there was some fag ash somewhere...then .i could see the smoke in front of me....looked down and my scrotum was about to catch firesad.png

hole in the leather.back to the garage next day for a new heated arse system and instigated a "recall" of hundreds of volvos..

But still...........in Thailand now with a bike only and lifes a dream

Have you found a good mechanic yet? I've only just seen this. I have a superb Volvo independent specialist for my car, he's worth his weight in gold. He's on the other side of town though, but worth the 15 min trip. I can't post details here, but pm me, and I'll send them on to you.

I need a man near Bangkok (Bang Bua Thong area if poss) - anyone know a good one?

There is a great Volvo specialist (independent and honest) on the road to Mae Rim. Head south out of town on Chang Puak Rd. He's one soi east of the highway, near the golf course. Make a U-turn just past the Bridgestone tire place, double back south one block, turn left at small outdoor restaurant. There's a Pepsi sign there. Go one block, turn right. You may see a small hand painted sign saying "Volvo". The shop is in the middle of the block, at a residence. There's usually a Volvo or two parked outside.

There is nothing about a Volvo that this guy can't handle. Nice family operation, very reasonable rates. He did great work for me when I was a Volvo owner.

Chok dee.

Hey Frank,

You have provided good helpful information. No reason to be embarrassed, I could have driven straight to the guy following the original directions, just had a mental spin when reading the first time and we all need an occasional mental spin. Thanks.
