Obama Thanks Supporters After Winning Re-Election

A few of the "saner" Republicans are already saying the party has to start finding middle ground and not going the wing nut Teabagging route. Of course many of the extreme elements will say Romney wasnt "Conservative enough". Let them continue to keep their party out of power , where they can only win gerrymandered districts in the House,At the end of the day Independents didnt know what Romney really believed and even many of his supporters were only voting against Obama and not for Romney but because of prejudice.

Oh and Obama won ,all the TV posters who believed anything were on another planet.

BTW, one network reported that Obama got 70 percent of the Asian American vote. While in recent elections, Asians have shifted to the democratic party modestly, that percentage compares to the percentage for Latino Americans! The only ethnic demographic Romney got was white people. That used to be enough. Never again!

Not only do the republicans have to fight for any relevance with African Americans, Latino Americans, Jewish Americans, Arab and Muslim Americans, GLBT Americans if you can call that an identity group which I do, but now it looks like they've lost Asians as well. Surprising to me.

Also, the POLLS were right. Totally spot on. Their formula for more democratic voters figured in at similar levels to the last election were very accurate. Nate Silver is ... GOD.

Really easy for the Republicans to win next time. Just promise everyone more free stuff than the Democrats. Seems like everyone has their hand out these days. The America of Kennedy is long gone..".................... ask what you can do for your country". Now it's just "gimme".

Great,... now there'll be no stopping him rolling out the compulsory RFID chipping into all Americans under Obama Care which has already passed as law and gets actualized as of March 26th 2013.

This is a compulsory requirement of the Obama Care law and for anyone thinking of objecting or creating a civil commotion about it don't worry they have the FEMA camps all ready for action.

This is where veiled socialism morphs into extreme Naziism and mass control and oppression on a scale never before seen in history!

If your living in the USA at present I reckon any time now would be good to get out or be prepared for the calamity that will befall you and all others that refuse to take the mark of the beast!

All governments are evil but there's not a one on the planet IMHO that could match the insidious and covert manipulation of the US govt which with Obama at the helm makes it worse still. An evil liar who under the pretense of being a good Christian is actually a Muslim hell bent on destroying the freedoms that patriot Americans and the Americam forefathers fought fiercly and without reservation for,

Not sure who's worse, GW Bush or Obama. In an olympic event they could have been buddies on the batton relay team!

Do you do stand-up?

I am not American [thank god], but I have been subject to the rhetorics of this bl____y election for weeks.

Why do we not get this when the Canadians, Mexicans, French, Germans, Russians, Italians, Spanish, Etc., vote for their national leaders and governments?

We're ok with you not wanting to be an American @Basil B. And there are millions of people in the world that would love to be Americans and they most humbly thank you for freeing up that spot in the line.

Who lost their job tonight?

1. Karl Rove at Fox. toast. He couldn't face reality and Fox had egg on their face., and BTW;

2. Fox boss Roger Aisles. Thankfully Fox is very profitable serving up its nonsense to the masses, or Rupert Murdoc would bounce his A** out the door for losing two Presidential contests.

3. Poor old Jim Lehrer. Way past his sell by date, time to retire. His performance as moderator in the first debate was a new low point.

Anyone else?

Good for the world, good for most Americans. Congratulations President Obama and thank you, American voters!!!

Why is this good for the world? I would like to understand your reasoning behind that assertion.

Simple answer: Obama is better suited, on several levels, for dealing with international relations. The articulate answer could go on for volumes. Granted, Romney might be ok for dealing with most int'l events and incidents. Yet (for starters) Obama has a cool-headed, intelligent and likeable Sec. of State in Ms Clinton.

Ms. "we came, we saw, he died" Clinton is the least person the world needs. Obama comes second. They might be good for America or for some Americans in America, but not for the the world.

What most people overlooked when they voted for Romney was that he didn't know the hidden walls in the berocasy that he would have to navigate around and Obama did and knew how to do it when he came in either. Hense promises unfilled. The same as every first time president before him.

Admittedly he had to learn the hard way but he did and got the country to where they could see around the corner.

A tremendous accomplishment considering what he was given to work with. First he had to stop the fall then reverse it.

We can hope for more recover in the years to come. Remember we are not in this alone it is a world wide problem.

I dont like Obama, I dont think he did anything to earn re-election, and I am worried he will bury us in debt. That being said, for my county's sake I wish him well in the next four years. I really hope that he can work with congress and get the things done that need to be done and not argue over ideology. This is what I hope, but his record leads me to believe I will be disappointed.

he's the democratically-elected president. congress should work with him, not vice versa. congress is there to support the people's chosen president, not block his initiatives and attempts to improve quality of life for the majority of americans.

StevieH, you are way off base and you need to review your civics lessons. Congress is also "democratically" elected. And the representatives of the House of Representatives are specifically elected to represent the people of the United States. Senators are (now) elected to represent the states. I recommend you review something that became known as the "Connecticut Compromise". Article Two of our Constitution would be good also.

LOL StevieH, this is all you need to remember; "Of the people, by the people, for the people"...not "president"

The president has to work with congress not the president firsts. The Constitution say the laws will be written by congress. Laws are not written by executive order which Obama does time and time again. Executive orders should be used in time of war or national emergencies not to promote the presidents agenda. What Obama does is for sure against the constitution that is the backbone of America which could be lost.

Congratulations to USA!!! Very happy to see Obama re-elected!!

You would not say that if you still lived there.

Obama is a MONET WASTER.

coffee1.gifcoffee1.gifcoffee1.gifcoffee1.gif

Oh YES I would say that. Obama's so called money wasting is the only way forward to create employment and kick start the economy, not carefully injecting funds into the economy will just stagnate and kill off what little hope of recovery there is, read up on Keynes it will explain it all if you do not already know that.. Romney would maybe have not "wasted" your money but he would have ensured the wealthy and elite continue to steal your money and that from the poor and middle income families. I would rather have someone "wasting" my money on schemes that at least should in the end benefit me and the majority of ordinary folk, than to have money "stolen" from me to keep it exclusively amongst Romney's rich elitist greedy and selfish friends as would have for sure happened..

Great news indeed and give me some faith back in the USA having some common sense and intelligence. Well done US citizens, we can all breath a sigh of relief now for far more chance of US and World stability and safety..

Now we have several years for the American people to form their very OWN non right wing peoples' party of the true centre or even centre left. Neither Socialist nor Capitalist extremists, which surely we have all had enough of by now, but a new political force that is honourable and sensible and that really believes in people as well as investment. It does need those folk in the USA who truly are capable and passionate enough to get such a movement started ASAP as time has a habit of running out of course and we really NEED a new peoples' choice candidate and political party at the next US presidential election, surely that should be obvious to see..

Remember MONEY is there as a tool and to help folk to manage their lives and was invented to prevent the pre-money days of difficult bartering, Money was NEVER intended to be our master as it has become at our peril and just for the benefit of just a few percentage elitist fat cats who want the power to be able to control us all . I believe in true people and not in money which is purely a practical way to help folk live and manage their lives easily and that is why we really NEED a new people's political force truly of the centre / centre left that will not tow the line that the real power rich elitist meglomaniacs fat the very top appear to force on the traditional two parties and all of us.. The World's people need to stand up and be counted and make sure we all know that it is PEOPLE that award power through the ballot box and truly NOT MONEY that only gives dictatorial unelected power to the bully boys and selfish elitists.

So this is surely a great day for common sense and a hope for real ordinary people in the USA and the World too. They said no to the destructive extremist right wing (there is no extremist left wing in the USA remember) and that gives us some real hope of a movement to the true centre. Obama is no saviour though and of course there can be no guarantees he will solve all the problems, in fact most unlikely that he will as we all feel whichever party gets in they will have to tow the line to the <deleted> at the top of the power chain that control us all in the World.. But as I always said at least he is the hugely better and more intelligent sensible choice of the two candidates the USA had to choose from.. But the relief is that Romney rightfully got nowhere near the Whitehouse in the end as that would have indeed truly spelled total disaster for us all. Might even open a bottle of good Whiskey to celebrate Romney's well deserved failure.

Spoken like a true left wing radical who is not interested in the Constitution, growth of American free enterprise or the small business owners who provide the majority of the GDP and taxes in the USA. The constitution was founded and written that the congress writes and passes laws not the president by executive order which Obama does time and time again. I am sure the founding fathers are turning over in their graves at the way Obama uses Executive orders to get his way. This should be the constitution America not a socialist or communist America Obama wants to have. Obama does not follow the constitution it is that simple. Just the facts.

Bush trashed your constitution beyond recognition, and to think you all fell for a horrific piece of legislation that has curtailed your freedom and liberty because they called it the Patriot Act. get over it. There is only one politician that was remotely interested in your constitution and was the only hope of returning America to what it was, but the the Republicans favoured a tax swindling, flip flopper instead of Ron Paul. Ron Paul would have been a bad President for the rest of the world, but would have been absolutely the best for America and it's people. Sadly he is now out to pasture and will be to old to run a full campaign in the next. So, the people have spoken, suck it up!

By the way, with your knowledge in business within the USA I would have thought that you would have understood that QE is nothing to do with the President. There is nothing Federal about the reserve, they are a law unto themselves. And to think, Ron Paul would have declared them unconstitutional and got rid of them, thereby putting the USA back in control of it's own money. Shame! Anyway, Obama has the helm.

In Obama's victory speech he proposed a meeting with Romney to see how they could work together.

I found that very bizarre.

biggrin.pngwhistling.gif

Maybe Obama needs an extra first footman or Butler at the White House? Romney does have that look. laugh.png

Nah was just another..what do they call it? Obamism?

There are some great ones out there

Congratz America! There are a lot of countries that can only dream they had a president of that caliber.

and that is probably the quote of quotes for this thread.. like him or hate him he's a boat load better than most other leaders in allot of areas

The world needs less leader like the drone bomber, not more of them.

Given the situation the US was in when Obama was first elected, I don't think one term was enough to make any real changes. A second term now gives him a chance to bring in Policies that can make a real difference. Getting the Troops Home would be a good start ??

Closing Guantanamo Bay and giving a fair and open trial to those still there would be and even better one. And perhaps apologising to all of the ones who have been quietly released because they hadn't really done anything wrong. Didn't he say he was going to do that in his electioneering last time around? coffee1.gif

He talks a lot, does nothing or the opposite.

For sure the right move for Murdoch. Fox News is wildly profitable. Ailes is the reason. He's not going anywhere.

Now the election is out of the way, I'll be interested to see what happens when the Congressional inquiry into Benghazi finds out the truth about the attack, which won't reflect well on Obama

It'll be even more interesting to see if Obama can cooperate with the House to prevent the fiscal cliff happening in January. Seeing as it's a lame duck session, I'll not be surprised if they let it happen just to make him look bad. Revenge is sweet!

Obama is the new dictator. He rules with Executive Order not within the Constitutional guidelines. If he knows he can't get what he wants he just does an EO without thinking of the countries wishes or what is best. That is why the congress hates him so much and nothing he wants will be passed. Obama is a real dictator. I am not a Romey supporter or for any party but I do know the Constitution and what Obama is doing is not in line what our founding fathers wanted for America. You will see congress come up in anger wanting to support the constitution and Obama will just continue to defy the constitution and do his will. So sad,

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Obama deserves the poisoned chalice he has made for himself, now watch at leisure as every single issue Obama voter is disappointed as the money runs out and the U.S defaults on it's debt. Now the politics is over, the economics can be distilled down to the simple question as to whether Ben Bernanke would be allowed to keep the printing presses going, or whether he would be replaced by someone who would not. We now know the answer, so it's iceberg in sight full steam ahead.

I'm thinking of making an "I told you so" folder so I don't keep having to type it out everytime the chickens come home to roost.

Did the American underclass really believe that Obama can give them jobs instead of handouts? Small hope, given that the people that create jobs just got slammed.

Totally agree! Yepp - helps you to sleep better at night knowing to be a citizen of the world police as it assures that any but your own country gets bombed back to stone age and is wasted with depleted Uranium.

I always wonder what Americans are so proud of - is it living on land that was stolen from the aboriginal people by murdering them in the world's biggest genocide ever? Is it living on land that then later was made fertile and accessible by stolen slaves shipped over from Africa, with quite a big percentage of them getting raped and killed in the process? Is it living in a country that managed to drop two nuclear bombs on civilians and on a country that already was on its way to surrender, and in the end managed to be hailed as a "humanitarian" hero? Is it living in a country that succeeded in marketing the world's biggest pile of scrap metal as "the world's greatest motorcycle"? If these are the reasons, then such a rare spot in the line does not have that much appeal anymore, does it?

So true. The founding fathers also decided that a black person only counted as 3/5's of a white person, so I guess you can say he is really taking it to the founding fathers on that front as well.

And this Election Day was no different. Moments after the president’s victory was projected by several news outlets last night, Donald Trump took to Twitter to voice his outrage, demanding a ‘revolution.’

He also said that the Democrat’s re-election to office was a ‘great and disgusting injustice.’
