[Myanmar] Thaksin Invited To Deliver Lecture In Burma: Adviser

A legal adviser to former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said the ousted leader was invited by Burmese President Thein Sein to return to Burma to deliver a lecture on poverty eradication, according to a report by the Bangkok-based daily The Nation. Noppadon Pattama also said that Thaksin’s meeting with Thein Sein in Naypyidaw on Wednesday did not involve any business negotiations. Thaksin had earlier planned to meet with supporters in the border town of Tachilek, opposite Mae Sai in Thailand’s Chiang Rai Province, but called off the trip following rumors of a plot to assassinate him.
