Nok Air increases frequency on Bangkok/Chiang Mai route with code share agreement with Thai Airways International

BANGKOK: -- From 13 February 2006, Nok Air is increasing the frequency of flights on its Chiang Mai route to up to 14 flights per day with its code share agreement with Thai Airways International.

Adding to its 4 existing flights per day on the route, Nok Air signed a code share agreement with Thai Airways International which allows it to increase its services to the northern capital.

“Nok Air is very pleased to be increasing its flights to Chiang Mai, with the code share agreement with Thai Airways International. This means that Nok Air’s passengers will benefit from this agreement as services will be available nearly every hour”, said Patee Sarasin, CEO of Nok Air.

The code share flights offers standard benefits normally provided by Thai Airways International except for the redemption of THAI mileage collection. Passengers can reserve these flights through all the normal channels provided by Nok Air, but check-in will be at the THAI check-in counters and the code share flights will be on THAI aircraft.

What is Nok Plus?

Extra THB500 and you get a sort of business class type seat. I think you can also change your bookings without any penalties on Nok Plus.

As Chuchok says - Business class seat - change your boooking without charge AND a 30 kilo baggage allowance instead of 15.

They dont want to give anybody those little air miles if they can avoid it..do they Mr M :D anering

Just done a quick price flip check on roughly the same day as my next "sortie" in March...

Bangkok.>Chaing Mai> Return.....

Thai Airways .....................................Bt 4,740.

Thai/Nok........................... ..........Bt.3,600

Nok.................................. .....Bt.3,000

There are still the usual diffs and indeed advantages like TG is a Y- Economy and valid for 1 year etc...so you pays yer money and take your pick........its good news apart from that... :D

They are still fluffing about and seem uncertain ref: bunging on further fuel surcharges but the above is about a fair comparision although I seem t6o remember that the bog standard R/T on Thai last time was about Bt 5,250..........

The Patti 10 bt bus users will of course always go for the TG Inter.because they like paying more......one would imagine... :o
