Good afternoon,

I need to take my friend to see a doctor or nurse, regarding an infection 'down stairs'. Can anybody please give some info' where there is a GUM clinic/STI/STD testing clinic in Phuket and opening hours etc...

Lol....Good luck mate. Get it sorted out and wear a Johny in the future. Speaking from personal experience, stds can be very unpleasant but we learn from our mistakes.

Government hospital charge about 250bht (4 tests)

If he has the clap ....... about 500bht including the treatment.

If there are signs, he doesn't need screening, he needs treatment, they will know which one he has.

Why bother with one of the Private hospitals when you could use the facilities of a Thai Government hospital if you are concerned at the high cost. Many Specialists in the Private hospitals only work there part-time, having their main job at a Govt. hospital. You will find the costs to be a fraction of the cost of a Private hospital, although you may have to wait around for a while to see the Specialist after first being seen by a GP.
