[Myanmar] Govt Announces Raft Of Concessions Ahead Of Obama Visit

Burma’s government on Sunday announced that it would allow international bodies to monitor its prisons, conflict zones and suspected nuclear sites, in the latest sign that it is stepping up its efforts to win support for reforms. According to the government’s newly formed Information Team, the International Committee of the Red Cross has been invited to resume prison visits and provide assistance in states with ongoing ethnic conflicts. It also said that it would agree to new International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards that allow inspections of suspected clandestine nuclear sites.
