Need To Find A Pci Firewire Driver

Featured Replies

I need to find a driver for my 1eee1394 firewire PCI card.

I used to be able to find drivers, but I can't find this one. Is there an easy site to find free drivers?

Download SlimDrivers.-it's free (if you don't mind doing the updates manually).

Contact me on a PM, I had the same issues with Win 7 and IEEE1394, I will send you the drivers I used as Win 7 does not support the originals that came with the original software ( I assume you need it for something like a Sony Handycam or similar?) Texas Instruments?

If you check out this folder, you may even find you have the driver but Windows doesn't install it correctly -

Go to your root drive normally c:\

take a look in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\1394ohci.sys

That is the driver you need if it is for what I said earlier - a camera driver.

Win XP had no problems finding and installing this, neither does Win 8, only Win 7 was a complete bitch!

Thanks for the tip, I did install slim drivers, it is a nice little program, but it didn't fix my problem unfortunately.

If you can find the device ID... either by a code that gets reported in Device manager or something screen-printed on the PCB, then you can find the manufacturer here: http://www.pcidatabase.com/
