How easy is it to transfer e books to a tablet like a Galaxy or Nexus 7? After doing a few Google searches it appears both confusing and difficult. I have a lot of e books saved on my laptop in epub format and thought I'd just be able to transfer them to a tablet via a USB cable, but it doesn't appear as though it's that simple. Anyone have any experience with this?

I just transfer them onto my android phone.

Connect your device in external storage mode, then the internal memory and the sd card (if installed) should show up as external drives on your pc.

I transfer my ebooks into a folder i made called ebooks.

Using google play install aldiko book reader.

In aldiko on the home tab click on file, then browse to the folder you stored your books, using the menu button on your device choose select all and then import...

I suggest you look at this free software,

It can do all you would ever want with an eBook.

File them, transfer them to almost any device and even remove pesky DRM with a few add-ons.

Simple to use and very powerful

Thank, I already have the books saved in Calibre.

As you have an Android tablet, and your books in Calibre, I suggest you install Calibre Companion on your tablet from the Play Store. This App will let you browse your books on the tablet and download the ones you want to read.

You can also use this from the PC and push the books to he tablet.

It can be done either with a Wi-Fi connection if you have one in your home or using USB

Thanks very much, that's most helpful, but I believe you still need to install a reader on your tablet as well?

Another advantage of having a cheap Kindle. Besides great battery life and being much lighter, the e-ink is way easier on the eyes.

Where do you buy a Kindle in Pattaya and what do you call cheap?

How about $69.99 at Walmarts. I had a friend pick one up for me and bring it with him when he came for a visit. Unfortunately, here in Thailand you would have to pay nearly 5,000 baht.
