Proving 65K Bhat Income For Retirement Visa...

Featured Replies

One could also say why bother with the complication of all that paperwork from the banks? If you indeed have the 65K baht per month income, the US Consular outreach makes one or two visits each year to most of the major cities. One does not now even have to travel to the US Embassy in BKK to obtain the required income affidavit.

There is nothing in the publicly available rules about how recent the embassy letter must be. Let's hear from members who applied with a letter anywhere from four to 12 months old.

The US Consular Outreach visits Khon Kaen on one of its 2 annual visits about 2 weeks after my retirement extension expires. I therefore travel to Udon Thani where the Consular visits about 2 months before my earliest 30-day prior renewal period. I have never had any problems at KK IMM with the approximately 2 month old letter -- I keep copies of the Consular schedule just in case.

I get my letter at an Outreach visit in June and do my extension in late October or early November.

I've been told the letter is good 'the same year'. Don't know if they meant same calendar year, or same extension year.
