Average class size for government school where you work?

(Someone can create a poll on private schools on a separate thread if they like. I'm interested in public schools. Thanks!)

Voted from previous experience, classes were from 40 to 60 students in a smallish room, some of the kids sat at desks most didn't, was actually a language lab, but the stuff never worked.

60!

Holy nakrian!

I was feeling bad for myself at 30! You all make me feel very lucky.

Thanks for the posts. Keep 'em coming. Maybe the next topic should be: How Do You Stay Sane?

Virtually all government schools will have more than 30. This poll will work well for private schools - I have between 7 and 25 in my EP.

I haven't taught at a government school for several years, but here is my experience from the past:

M4-M6 at a Wat School - 25

M3 at a Wat School - 50

M1-3 at Bodin Decha - 50+

M1-3 at an EP Prog. - 30 - 35

M4 at an Ep Prog - 20-25

Personally, I find that I cannot teach effectively with more than 25 students in a class.

Try this for size 100-150...sometimes 200-300 students.. on the university level but general Entertainment Classes.. sadclap2.gif

When I worked in a government school a few years back it was 33-35, despite the cut off being 30 for the EP classes. Non-Ep were up to 45 students

Now my biggest class i 15 and my smallest 9, it started off at 3 in May.

Any non EP/MEP class I have taught has been 40 to 55 students in rooms that are designed for 30, except for a village school I taught in where the size was 24, a very good size to teach. The 40 plus classes in rooms designed for 30 were almost impossible to teach.
