February 13, 201313 yr BIB out in force today. One posse at the start of Rama IX coming from Suvarnabhumi and another on Ratchadapisek (just in front of Caesar's). I was on my PCX, properly helmeted, jacketed, shoe'd (ok, trousered also) so no problem as I didn't break any of the above five rules (or any of the other thousand made up ones) so was not even stopped. But I see lots of other motorists and motorcyclists stopped. Ride safe, and ride lawfully.

February 14, 201313 yr Author Popular Post Paid my first fine at a traffic stop in ages, a year maybe? Anyway, on Rama 4 near Bangkok University, got pulled over today by the BIB. I could tell he was a little nervous. I spoke Thai and never removed my balaclava, and gestured for him to quit talking and wait as I slowly removed my helmet and pulled out my headphones. When I asked him why he pulled me over, he said because my motorcycle was so beautiful, laughed, and hugged me! Haha. Cited for riding in the wrong lane (I was all the way right in the 3rd lane!), modified exhaust, and my mirrors were folded in to fit through the tight spaces between cars as always on Rama 4. After just a few seconds, he returned my driver's license to me and asked if I could help. I was feeling generous, so I said "20 baht" and he smiled and said "Ok!" Haha, most pleasant traffic stop I have ever had. We were both laughing as I sped away.
