This song was in the Aussie film Shine, in the scene when they were in a London strip club, if anyone here is familiar with that. Another 60s classic.

Dear old Reg died at his home in Andover, Hampshire, (My neck of the woods), where he lived all his life. A really nice man with no airs and graces, he was a legend there. He was a bricklayer, and the story goes that he was working on site when a workmates transistor radio played 'Wild Thing', then the DJ announced that it had gone straight into the Billboard top ten in the US. Reg went to the foreman and said, "Share my tools out amongst the lads, i'm orf! Back in the late sixties The Troggs were in the recording studio trying to record a new single when Reg and drummer Ronnie Bond had an artistic difference of opinion. Thankfully the sound engineer kept the tape rolling and recorded the whole thing. The result was what is known as the infamous Troggs Tape, which allegedly went a long way to inspiring the film, 'Spinal Tap'. I hope the mods will allow this as to be fair it does contain some industrial strength language. But it is very very funny, and somehow the broad Hampshire accents makes it even funnier. Sound up, and headphones are recommended if there are any delicate ears around. You have been warned! RIP Reg, we salute you.

Saw The Troggs at an oldies concert back in the late 80s. By that time Reg was an old fat guy and it looked kinda funny, if not grotesque, to watch him stroking the mike stand up and down as he sang "Wild Thing" in a raspy voice. Good musicianship still.

Funny thing at that concert was how Herman's Hermits, minus Peter Noone, blew everybody away. They laid down some serious rock 'n' roll, quite surprising.
