“No compensation but I want to punch you”. Road Rage caught on tape in Sattahip.

SATTAHIP:--The driver of a Luxury SUV from Bangkok was involved in a minor road accident with a local man on Saturday and stated that instead of receiving compensation for minor damage caused to his vehicle, he would rather punch the motorbike driver.

The incident was caught-on-camera and occurred in the Plu Ta Luang area and witnesses suggested newsjsthe SUV driver was showing off to his female partner. They were reluctant to stop the man as a badge on the front of his vehicle and the “look” of the man suggested he may be a senior member of the Thai Armed Forces.

The case began when Khun Chirawat aged 28 and his elder sister Khun Wanna aged 47 were on their motorbike and driving to a local temple to celebrate the Chinese New Year. They were involved in a minor accident with a Bronze Mitsubishi Pajero Sport which sustained a small scratch to the front passenger door.

"a Luxury SUV"

Amazing Thailand, calling a Mitsubishi Pajero luxury SUV.

But as long a pickup based Fortuner gets called SUV, the Mitsubishi must be 'luxury', methinks

A top of the line Mitsubishi Pajero Sport costs one year of average US household income.

So it's a average car, for an average family, don't you think?

Build here in Thailand, its on the price level of a Camry.

And all 'SUV's', based on trucks, will never made it to more as a pretty truck, I think!

This is a pretty Triton. Ok, a luxury Triton! All passengers have aircon and a roof!

Just wondering what the various commenters here would suggest as a luxury SUV...perhaps the Porche version...?

The one that Top Gear lambasted as being the SUV you buy to prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that you have more money than sense...!

Would you really take your Porche C-thing into the bush and get it all scratched up with tree branches scraping down the side, and getting buried in mud or sand, rocks smashing up the underside...?

An off topic racist post and a reply have been removed. Another post in French language has been removed, this is an English language forum, English is the only acceptable language to be used when posting, except in the Thai language forum where Thai is allowed.

Doesn't anybody who buys an SUV or Pick Up prove beyond doubt that he's got no common sense, and doesn't give a crap about other people on the streets?

I have just Googled Pajero and the "Urban dictionery" explanation of the spannish meaning somewhat adds an interesting slant on why the driver may have been a bit edgy

It's all in the Pajero page of the Wiki:

"However, since pajero is an offensive term for "wanke_r" in Spanish,[2] alternative names have been used for many markets overseas. It is known as the Mitsubishi Montero (meaning "mountain hunter"[4]) in Spain, India, and the Americas (excepting Brazil), and as the Mitsubishi Shogun in the United Kingdom."
