Hello all,

I am a newbee, who might be heading over, and have a question regarding medicine.

I was born asthmatic with chronic sinusitis. I have long since been a fitness buff and have, for the most part, eliminated the asthmatic problem. The sinusitis problem on the other hand is persistent and has led to nasal polyps. I take a decongestant and use a nasal spay (anti inflammatory - corticosteriod for the polyps). Would there be a problem getting these items there, and what is the cost?

Thanks for the info

A great deal will depend on where you live.

I too have chronic sinusitus and found that 2 weeks sitting on the beach in Pattaya, breathing the air coming over the sea and my sinuses cleared up almost totally.

However there is a lot of pollution and dust in Thailand which can make matters worse.

Most of the drugs you need are available here, though a few need a prescription.

The cost of seeing and ENT specialist is $5 for a consult.

I have a very good ENT specialist in Sri Racha. PM me if you want details.

I visited an aquaintence down in Florida USA once who, like me is from the north, said the same thing about being down there.

Mold is my big problem. I can probably find an index on that.

Thanks for the information! :D

"Can I respectfully suggest you see a Doctor ?" :o Tough crowd :D

"Try posting on the Health, Body, Medicine forum " Will be more carefull on catagory selection :D

You'll have no difficulty getting corticosteroid nasal spray or decongestants here. Inexpensive. Also no problem finding good ENT and/or allergy specialist in Bangkok. Would advise you think twice about living in Bangkok, though, as the air quality is terrible. People who usually don't have sinus problems and asthma often do when in Bangkok. If you have those problems to start with Bangkok is probably a place best avoided. Head for the countryside or seacoast instead.
