Process For Selling Motorbike In Thailand

Featured Replies

Hello:

I am the legal owner of a Honda PCX: Green book in my name, taxes paid, registration current etc.

I would like to sell the bike legitimately but I do not yet know the process with the vehicle office etc once I have a buyer.

Could somebody explain this or point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Sorry this should be posted in the main Bikes forum, not here. Could a moderator please move it? Thanks.

I am surprised none has chimed in yet for your question.

I know many here have sold bikes.

I have never sold yet but can tell you what I have heard anyway.

If your a foreigner you will need to get another certificate of residence from immigration of your

embassy/consulate. Same certificate you need to buy the bike.

Next you can either sell & handle the transfer yourself or pay a bike shop as most will handle it for you.

I mean handle the transfer

If you do it yourself, once you have a buyer you walk in with the buyer to your motorcycle transfer office

& do the paper work. Then the money changes hands.

Also AFAIK the transfer office for bikes is not the same as cars/trucks

At least here in Chiang Mai
