I receive two phone calls at the same time, I pick up and nobody is talking, I hang up and right away another phone call, nobody is talking, I hang up and in a second a another phone call and I hang up and then it is over. I have got Dtac what can that be.

I occasionally get calls and can hear people talking, usually in Thai.

I then realise, after no amount of talking or shouting into my phone, that someone has accidentally hit the "redial" button and doesn't know they are calling me. I just hang up.

Best to let unrecognized 08x numbers go to voice-mail <add a personal greeting>, or reject the call with a pre-composed SMS, and Android option, in both English and Thai to the effect "you have dialed <insert your number here>, my name is <insert your first name here>, I am a farang and am busy now. Please send me an SMS with your details and I will follow up with you."

Once they start calling your number by accident they won't stop for a few days.

It could be from call centres wanting to sell . They dial maybe half a dozen numbers at once and see who answers first. They also note what time u answer so they can guage when u are most likely to answer and what language you answer the phone in It is their version of market research... Don't know if Thai call centres are that sophisticated but the ones from India certainly are.

My guess would be failure to deliver "hey I'm here and I want to get that call" reply from receiving mobile to the caller. There is first an negotiation between both parties and after that the voice channel is opened. Sometimes this fails.

This could be caused by number of things between the caller and the recipient and everything between these.

- Malfunction on either end device

- Call routing problem or other network error

- Codec problem in case some of the devices use different codecs

- Billing verification

- Other problems with either mobile operator network elements which are essential for the call

- Emergency call or other special case during the call negotiation (Emergency calls have always priority and the network drops other calls if necessary to make sure that the emergency call get through.)

- ...

If this is only one time thing, then there is nothing to worry about. If it happens again and again, then first step would be to change you mobile phone to another. If this does not help, then contact the caller, if know .. and then call the operator to check things out.
