Hi,

As you may have seen in another post we were successful with our SV application, no interview required.

We provided a lever-arch file with all our information. This is my circumstance:-

1. 2k savings.

2. Letter from driving agency offering me work on my return.

3. Sister acting as second sponsor on financial side.

4. Father acting as sponsor on accomodation side.

5. Letters / Reference from my wifes current employers.

5. Stayed in Thailand for over a year, apartment contracts, letters etc included.

6. Cover letter explaining the exact situation and what all the information in the folder is for.

7. All the information available to back the above up.

You don't need a lot, just need to fulfill the requirements, and make sure you cover everything. I believe that the folder answered all the typical interview questions they could ask.

Hope this helps.

All the best to all. This forum was so much help, search through all the information, everything is covered, just tailor the information for you circumstances.

Scott.

You 'sometimes' do not need a lot and the requirements are sometimes impossible to fullfill. My Mrs called into the embassy yesterday with as much info as it's possible to show and which should easily satisfy the requirements of showing a genuine relationship and intention to return. But she was told if she applied again it would be probably be turned down (no reason given) and yet again they were pushing her to apply for a settlement visa as more likely to get one.

For the time being I have given up trying to understand the workings of the embassy, have told her to apply again and see what happens then.

Thai 3, I think you need to consider employing an agent, reason being if you have written something on a previous application that could have seemed perfectly innocuous to you then, it could have been like a red wrag to a bull to the ECO and now you have a little stamp or two in your passport and on their computer, and maybe the U.S embassy computer etc. indicating that ECO believed that you lied to him in your application.

An agent, and it will have to be a good one will know about these little aversions the ECOs have been instructed in and help you avoid inflaming them again.

I would make sure you have four copies of everything one for you two for the Embassy and one for the agent to send to your M.P. when you get turned down again with your heap of good stuff that has been dismissed as fraudulent by Joe Bloggs at the embassy.

Congrats Scott! (not hard at all, now was it?) :o

Sorry if I made it sound easy, what I meant to get across is that you don't need many 10s thousands in the bank, a huge house etc. It took nearly 3 months for me to get the folder together. We stressed and worried the whole way through the process.

I know we are very lucky to get the visa, just wanted to share the news and thank the many people who have helped me on this board. Also to give a ray of light to those who are in a similiar situation with regards to funds and accomodation.

It may have helped that we got a visitors visa last year which proved our relationship also. The SV required much more preparation and information, but well worth it.
