How To Remove/clean The Brand Name From The Windshield Film Of My New Bought Car?

Featured Replies

the car service company put on a window film on the windshield, but there are many annoying brand name text on it, how can i remove them? but i dont want to remove the whole film off, can i use knife or something like that to scratch off?

Any tips? THANKS.

A little alcohol and a cotton bud...

In the past the Film company actually gave me a small bottle with the removing solution in it.

Just make sure you use a solvent that doesn't damage the film.

If I am not mistaken, I think I have used makeup remover in the past...

Take the car back to where you got it done and they will do it for you for free.

Do NOT use acetone (nail polish remover) either...

After how many day/weeks can it be removed? I have the same, right in front of my eyes:)

Believe 7 days is the recommended period for the glue to fully set.

Simply moisten a cotton ball or a piece of soft cloth or towel with common, everyday, over-the-counter 70% (Isopropyl) alcohol and rub softly until the window film brand/text completely disappears.

Worked well for me! The installer advised me to wait at least 7 days before removing the brand/text.

The main reason that some shops don't remove the brand decals before delivery is to show that you have a genuine product installed.

Strange, since when you tell the dealer you don't want the name on it they will remove it directly after application.

Our first car had the tinting done by the dealer at a professional tinting shop and they removed the decals before delivery.

The second car had the tinting done by a different dealership using a different tinting shop and they left the decals on.

Some dealers will remove them, others don't.

Some owners are unaware that film even comes with manufacturers decals as they are removed prior to delivery.... or maybe they got cheap film.

Oh God, just read the posts please before you reply.

If you ask the dealer on purchase to remove, it will always be done within 7 days of applying.

^ Yes... but if I had done that last year, I wouldn't have had something else to do this afternoon apart from rattle your cage.
