I am only referring to over fifties here. Why is it that you hardly ever see a bald Thai man, but most men from Western countries are bald? Just last week near my home, I was sitting at a table in the company of some of my Western friends. There were eight of us including me, yet I was the only one with a full head of hair. Does anyone know why most Thai men manage to keep their hair, and hardly any Western men do?

many western men over 50 or 60 start to go bald,i think its always been that way.........the reason for it i have no idea.but what about all the younger guys going bald in their 30's nowadays?this never happened 30 or 40 years ago.could it be the change in diet to more fast foods, fizzy drinks and processed foods.maybe sheryl can tell us the causes.

Genetics.

There are some bald Thai men, though agree it seems to afflict Westerners earlier and more severely.

There have always been some men who bald prematurely (i.e. before age 50) and that too is genetic. I have not read anything to suggest this is increasing in frequency.

I started to go bald at about 25 and just have as much now as I did at 35, around the sides and a bit at the back and I am 68.
