Next Friday night -waiting for a 6am Bali flight- would it be a good idea to go there to kill a few hours... and a few drinks?

Or... is there any better option in the vicinity?

The only one I know is in Amari Watergate Hotel, Pratunam. It used to be very busy several years ago when British Airways used it for stopovers. The food was OK to Good and the beer good, live music at weekends and a good atmosphere.

it's expensive and usually dead but air conditioned and the food is pretty good, last drinks 1am but if there a few in they will stay open a bit later. If you have your back to the hotel and turn left, about 60 metres down the road to the right there is a bar/restaurant that is super cheap, sometimes has a band on and is open late, foods not to shabby either.

Other wise get a taxi to future park and have a mooch around the outside markets, it's only 10 mins in a cab that time of night then come back for a few drinks.

I stayed at the Amari a couple of weeks ago, likewise for an early AA flight.

Thought a meal would be a good start to our holiday, I ate there years ago when Don Muang was still the main airport and enjoyed it.

The place was certainly dead and the staff seemed bored stiff, still took an age for our order to be taken and then a long wait for my food to be delivered. When they brought my meal they told my partner that the meal she had ordered was off, would she like to order something else.

I had ribs, and it's safe to say they were the worst I have eaten in my life.

So to sum up, our experience was an overpriced restaurant, with no atmosphere with terrible food and bored staff, we will never eat there again.

Will stay at the hotel again and look out for the place Busybee suggests.

Thanks for your valuable input...

I had a G&T at the Amari but that was dead boring

So I left my bags at the reception and followed Busy Bee second advice (went to Rangsit)
