Popular Post smokie36
Samui has trees on the beaches so you can have free shade. On Phuket you have to pay for that. Work it out from there OP!

Tropicalevo
Depends on what you want. Stop trying to be helpful NMS Anyone who is considering Chaweng or Patong as the two places for somewhere to live is probably trolling. Either way, they deserve all of the Russians that they get (and there are lots more in Phuket). The Russians who come to Samui come to get away from the ones in Phuket

The Russians who come to Samui come to get away from the ones in Phuket This question is like asking if it better to have your left or right leg amputated. Whilst my right leg (I'm right handed) would doubtless be of greater use I can't see myself ever being in a position of needing to make a choice on the matter.

animatic
There are charms to each place and detractions. Samui is a bit more expensive, and definitely to fly to. But less rain, nice beaches and there are still some almost isolated spots with nice beaches. I always feel more surrounded by cars and people when I go to Phuket. There is more of a live music scene in Phuket, But a good dance seen on Samui if that is your thing. Yes to the better restaurants on Samui. Serious grouping of spas, detox and wellness centers. It really depends on what you want to do.
