I know this question has been asked before but I would like to get an updated answer.

Does anyone know any good second hand store for music instruments?

I know about Music Society, located in Coco walk Rachachewi BTS station but thats it. Some people say Pantip has a good shop as well but it might be closed already?

Thanks

I have a bass and amp I'm looking to sell.

It's an Oscar Schmidt short scale bass and a Hartke 15w combo amp. Both are great for home practice, especially if you live in a condo or apartment.

I bought them both six months ago at Music Connection, but upgraded my equipment because I started jamming with other people instead of playing along to CDs by myself. The bass and amp are still in great condition. Let me know if you are interested.

Bought me a new one last weekend so i am covered.

I only succeeded in finding one other shop. It is located in Fortune Town on the 3rd floor. They have many second hand guitars and some bases but not that I liked.

Cool. What bass did you wind up buying? Chinatown has a lot shops that sell used guitars in wide ranges of condition.

That music store at FotuneTown has a lot of very used equipment that is priced as if it was brand new. They have an old Gibson bass that's been there for at least four years. It's in terrible shape and they want 32,000 baht for it.

I got me self a Squier Fender P-bass. One from Indonesia. Pretty happy with it.

I went to Chinatown last weekend and yes they do have many music shops in that area. I think i visited all of them but none of them sold second hand stuff(Bass). Have you actually seen anyone do that out there or just from rumors?

Also many says that the price is better at Chinatown but i think it is the same as the shops i find in the big malls. A store called Music Concept has a branch in both World Trade center and Chinatown. Same prices, that where i bought mine, but in the world trade center branch. Also a thing to consider is that if you need to go back to the shop you might want to choose someone near your living quarters unless you enjoy travelling through Bangkok.

Actually, I'm going off second hand info for the Chinatown shops. I haven't been to the music shops down there in over five years.

Music Concept is a good music shop. I've bought cords and accessories there before. Forte Music is another good one. I bought a Fender Rumble 75w bass amp from the branch at Central Rama 9. I think they have their main branch in Chinatown. Also, there's a good music store on Sukhumvit 24, Strings Company (or something like that). I bought a strap there about a month ago. They're the only place I've seen carrying Ampeg in Bangkok. I was going to order a bass from them, but it was about $300 more expensive than buying it new in the US. I can buy a used one off of Ebay and have it shipped for cheaper.

Enjoy your bass.
