Avast Suddenly Blocking Lots Of Sites

Featured Replies

It just started this morning. A site called superproxy in UK gets mentioned a lot, also zelune.u4.org, and a half-dozen others so far.
I'm wondering if this has something to with the definitions update.
Is anyone else getting this, or have I picked up some kind of crud and Avast saving me?

I've just turned off the web checking part of avast as it is blocking sites I know are OK and no option to override the block.

Just checked mine and it all looks OK.....

There was report here a few weeks ago that the latest avast is over-zealous, even blocks some windoze programs.

Use another AV or better still... a linux option. Cheers, AA

Odd I only installed my version about 10 days ago. Admittedly it was not from a *recognized* source but has been fine....

Why would anyone install a free A/V from a suspect source has to be my first question??? Talk about Russian roulette.

It turned out the addresses intercepted only came up when accessing gmail, which came through ok despite Avast blocking the sites. Hasn't happened today. Yet. Maybe google was do some different routing due to the various net problems of the past week.
