[Myanmar] Press Kept Out Of Singapore President Meetings

Featured Replies

Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam began a five-day state visit to Burma in Naypyidaw on Monday by offering to help set up a vocational training institute in Rangoon as part of Singapore’s efforts to help Burma develop economically, Eleven Media reported on Tuesday. Unlike other visits of heads of state to Burma, however, domestic private media were sidelined in coverage of the visit. Tan met with President Thein Sein at the Presidential Palace on Monday to discuss enhancing bilateral ties. Only government-controlled media covered the meeting as reporters from private media were not invited.
