Tharit: Thailand region's No 1 terror target

BANGKOK: -- Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief Tharit Pengdit Wednesday claimed Thailand ranked number one in the region in terms of being at risk of terrorist attack - and number five in the world - according to studies in England and the US.

Tharit cited a recent discussion with US FBI legal attache Daniel P Powers about Thailand being among top countries at risk because of its freedoms and its position as the region's hub of terrorist movements.

Nothing new here, the weak response from Thailand to be able to handle this sort of terror activity, over the years ,has made a laughing stock of their armed forces and Governments for the past thirty years and more so since 2002 and just down the road a major problem , two Muslim nations, one would be ranked at three.

An alternate source ranked Thailand 8th in 12/2012 for acts of terrorism, so in the space of four months it has climbed the ladder to 4th? The ranking was based upon the number of incidents, deaths, injured and the level of property damage. A quote below from the news source:

The thought of the Yingluck Government being "terrorised" by the democrat party (democrats is such a misnomer) brings to mind that wonderful riposte by the UK Labour Chancellor that being attacked by the opposition MP Geoffery Howe, was,

I didn't mean for it to apply to the Head of the DSI, that's why I specifically mentioned the quote in relation to the Yingluck Government and the Democrat Party. Strange.
